Help with money matters
Help with money matters
In the Netherlands, many things work differently than where you are from. That can be tricky. That is why you will also receive help with everything you need to arrange. Like money matters. We teach you how money matters are arranged in the Netherlands.
In the first months that you live in the Netherlands, you will receive help from the Bureau for Financial Support (BvFO). To help you, BvFO will pay for a number of things for you. BvFO does this from your welfare. In any case, these are:
- the rent of your house
- the bills for energy and water
- the premium of your health insurance
BvFO will draw up a support plan together with you. BVFO pays the costs for at least 6 months. After that, BvFO will check with you whether you need any further support.
You will also receive training in financial self-reliance. This is a training course in which you learn how to manage your finances yourself.
